Do Not Over-Trust FDA

"Many Americans misunderstand what FDA drug approval means. A substantial proportion mistakenly believes that the FDA only approves - and only permits advertising of - drugs that are extremely effective and without serious side effects. Furthermore, many also fail to recognize fundamental uncertainties about the benefits and harms of newer drugs." Dr. Lisa M. Schwartz and Dr. Steven Woloshin who affiliated with the Veterans Administration Outcomes Group, White River Junction VA Medical Center, White River Junction, Vermont, and Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, Hanover, New Hampshire say.

A study group researched for 3,000 people in U.S., and 40% of people were misunderstanding as "The FDA only approves drugs that are extremely effective".
And 25% of people mistakenly believed, "The FDA only approves drugs that is no serious side effects".

Another research reported that they asked for heartburn patients, which the patients choose a medicine approved in 2009 or another one approved in 2001.
Without any notice, 34% of patients chose the medicine approved in 2001.
And after explain as, "New medicines rarely possible to be found serious side effect after many people used", 53% of patients chose the medicine approved in 2001.

Michael Steinman MD. in SFVAMC says, "One of the reason that physicians tend to prescribe expensive new drug, is many people believe newer drug is better. It is right sometime, but it is wrong in most of time".

Who Do You Want To Reincarnate As?

A British publisher "HarperCollins" reported, "More people would like to come back as Audrey Hepburn".

It is interesting.

Yes, sure, Audrey was so much beautiful, but I do not think young people really know about her.

Who this poll made by?

Maybe my generation or older, right?

And If my memory is right, her cousins were killed in front of her.

Do you want that kind of life?

Or they just want to be look alike her?

100 Years Old Finished Full Marathon?

I have been thinking to try a Marathon for more than 20 years, but never have tried.

There was a Marathon event October 16th in Toronto, Canada.

Fauja Singh, a 100-year-old runner who attracted worldwide attention when he completed a Marathon in over eight hours, won't be recognise as the world's oldest marathoner because... (click here to continue)

He says, he started marathon when he was 89 years old.

He recorded 5 hours 40 minutes 1 second in 2003.

He made the new records in 8 events that 100 meter to 5,000 meter of 100 years or older class.

Do you believe that he is 100 years old?

I don't think so.

I guess he is late 70s or at oldest middle 80s.

However, you can try.

Moderate exercises make you healthy and you can get longevity.

Sardines with

These tiny fish are the unsung stars of the sea. They are high in protein and loaded with Omega-3s, which also help the body maintain muscle, And they are low in mercury and high in calcium, making them a smart fish pick for pregnant women. If the flavor does not appeal to you, soak them in milk for an hour, it will remove any trace of fishiness.

Use sardines in recipes you like that call for anchovies ,including Caesar salad and stuffing. Or make a sardine melt: Toss whole sardines with chopped onions, fresh herbs and diced bell peppers. Put the mixture on top of a slice of pumpernickel or rye bread, cover with a slice of cheddar and broil.

Tarragon Chicken Salad with Yogurt

You can use this herb, a staple in French cooking, in place of salt in marinades and salad dressings. Plus, Tarragon lends a sweet, licorice like flavor to bland foods.

Starlight Children's Foundation

I visited an event that Starlight Children's Foundation.

This foundation helps the children who have serious illnesses.

The location was at a residential house.

The owner of this house = hostess was
Kathy Hilton who invited me to this event.

Potato (Oops, it gains your weight. Right?), bread and salad.

Weight Loss by Acupuncture or Superfoods 3

Neighbor in Beverly Hills

I visit on Civic Center Drive often.

I pass the intersection that Rexford Dr. & Burton Way = S. Santa Monica Blvd.

A new monument appeared there recently.
 The white building is Beverly Hills Public Library.

A view from south.
The low building is Fire Station.
Tall one is City Hall.
The top of the building is real gold.

Another monument across the Rexford Dr.
This has been hear years.

I entered from Burton Way side.
The brown low piles have little fountains on top.

Nice benches.

Some one great (maybe).

Nice to take a break, but no body there.

Looks good for have a lunch,

but Burton Way has a lot of traffic.

Not many things around here if you walk, other than hotels or court house.

Weight Loss by Acupuncture or Superfoods 2

Mix1/4 cup of the dried berries (from health food stores) with 1/4 cup raisins and 1/4 cup walnuts for a nourishing trail mix. Or for dessert, pour 1/4 cup boiling water into a bowl with 2 tbsp dried berries; let sit 10 minutes. Drain, then spoon over 1/2 cup low fat vanilla frozen yogurt.

Char-Broiled Salmon

You don't need to do much to enhance salmon's taste. Simple is best. Season a fillet with salt and pepper, then cook it in a hot pan with 2 tsp oil for 1 to 3 minutes on each side.

Apples are the ideal on-the-go low-calorie snack. For a pie like treat, chop up a medium apple and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp allspice and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Pop in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.

Buckwheat crepes
9. Buckwheat pasta
Swap plain noodles for this hearty variety; you'll slip into your skinny jeans in no time. Buckwheat is high in fiber and, unlike most carbs, contains protein. Those two nutrients make it very satiating, so it is harder to overeat Buckwheat past than the regular stuff.

Cook this pasta as you do rice: Simmer it, covered, over low heat. For a light meal, toss cooked Buckwheat past with broccoli, carrots, mushrooms ans onions, Or make Buckwheat crepes.
The shells of Buckwheat are used for the Sobakawa pillow that I have mentioned sometime.

Blueberries with cereal

All berries are good for you, but those with a blue hue are among the best of the bunch. They have the highest antioxidant level of all commonly consumed fruit. They also deliver 3.6 grams of fiber per cup.
Eat more
Instead of topping your cereal with fruit, fill your bowl with blueberries, then sprinkle cereal on top and add milk or yogurt.

Weight Loss by Acupuncture or Superfoods

I sometime have mentioned in this blog, which I do Acupuncture for Weight Loss.

I am doing that for many patients, and most people are getting good results.

When I perform Acupuncture practice, I suggest other things such as how to exercise, how to stretching, how to eat, what you ought to eat.

It actually became popular topic in last year.

20 Superfoods for Weight Loss! -=≡Σ(((⊃゚∀゚)つ

I list 5 of those today!

Beef Fajita
1. Steak
Beef has a rep as a diet buster, but eating it may help you peel off pounds. Try to consume local organic beef; it's healthier for you and the environment.
Eat more
Grill or broil a 4-once serving of top round or sirloin; slice thinly to top a salad, or mix with veggies for fajitas.

 2. Eggs
Dig in to eggs, yolks and all: They won't harm your heart, but they can help you trim inches.
Eat more
Omelets and scrambles are obvious choices, but if you can't cook before work, bake a frittata on Sunday; chill it and nuke slices for up to a week.

Kale and Quinoa

All oats are healthful, but the steel-cut and rolled varieties (which are minimally processed) have up to 5 grams of fiber per serving, making them the most filling choice. Instant oats contain 3 to 4 grams per serving.

"Instead of using breadcrumbs, add oats to meat loaf-about 1 cup for a recipe that serves eight".

Lentils pasta sauce on Spaghetti

Lentils are a bona fide belly flattener. Eating them helps prevent insulin spikes that cause your body to create excess fat, especially in the abdominal area.

There are many varieties of lentils, but red and yellow cook fastest (in about 15 to 20 minutes). Add cooked lentils to pasta sauce for a heartier dish. "Their mild flavor blends right in, and because they are high in protein, you can skip meat altogether".

I weighed today first time in several months since my old scale was broken.

I lost 3.5 lbs.

Of course NOT on purpose.
