Academy Award Live?

The King's Speech got the Academy Award.

Have you seen that movie yet?

I have not... I will see it soon if I can.

I guess you watched "Academy Award".

Yes?

Did you watch that live?

Yes??

I doubt it!

"Academy Award" is not broadcasted live.

Because

was happened at the half time show of Superbowl in 2004.

So "Academy Award" decided to broadcast with 5 seconds delay since 2005.

And
was happened in 1974 too.

Anyway, I saw "The Social Network".

They got "Golden Globe" but missed "Academy".

That was good movie but not really really good.

I wonder why they could get "Golden Globe".

How do you think?(゚_。)?(。_゚)?

I want to give "Terra Award Best Picture" to this (≡^∇^≡)

Death by Plastic Surgery Again

I found a month old news.

In some cases, I think Plastic Surgery help people.

In last year, "A woman who were shot her face by the gun received Cosmetic Surgery".

Like this case, present-day Plastic Surgery is really helpful.

However, people go to too far often.

I have many times of experience that I slept coffee in my hand.

St. Valentine's Day

Are you ready?

St. Valentine's Day... (click here to Wikipedia)

You may send some gifts for your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife or family.
The gift maybe flowers, chocolates, cookies or nice dinner with card.

In Japan, we have a unique custom.

Girls send chocolate for boys for declaration of love. ♥

In old age,
people considered it is naughty that girls tell love for boys.

However only one day in an year, girls are allowed to do it by giving chocolate.
It is the St. Valentine's Day.

This custom became popular in 70s.

There is 5 stories who started it.

1936 Kobe Morozoff,
1958 Merry Chocolate,
1960 Morinaga,
1965 Isetan,
1968 Sonny Plaza.

These are not sure, but each of them says, "Yes, we started it!"

That was a commercial strategy anyway.

By the way,

I love chocolate.

If you want to try Japanese style "Valentine's Day," please let me know.

Even without "declaration of love," any chocolates are welcome. ψ(`∇´)ψ

Drink Or Die

When you think about your health,

do you drink alcohol?

don't you do?

I have told to many people, which

Japanese say, "Sake is the chief of hundreds medicine".

In this proverb, Sake means alcohol. And hundreds means a lot.

It is not only in old proverb, but also in contemporary science. (click here)

Do you want to start to drink this weekend?

Yes! Let's go to drink together!!
.... if it is your treat ψ(`∇´)ψ

100,000 Calorie

A human being needs 2,000 to 2,500 Calorie in a day.

If you are a man athlete, you may need 3,000 Calorie.

How many day can you survive with one hamburger?

Maybe a month?

I guess Ben Roethlisberger ate this right before Super Bowl.

By the way,

1 Calorie = 1K calorie = 1,000 calorie.

Big C and small c has 1,000 times difference.

United State made this unit "Big C Calorie" to people consume more food.

Because 2,000,000 calorie is looks more awful it compare to 2,000 Calorie.

Still Believe Global Warming?

I think I have posted about "global warming gas" before. (Maybe not).

CO2 is only about 0.07% of greenhouse emission gas.

Why should we squeeze exhaustion of CO2?

The scientists say "if we continuously exhaust greenhouse emission gas, the earth temperature increase 3 degree Celsius (about 5.4 degree Fahrenheit) in 100 years.

If we make 0 (zero) CO2 exhaustion (you should stop your breathing), still increase 2.9979 degree Celsius (about 5.3962 degree Fahrenheit) in 100 years.

It is not much different, but it will be huge different in industry and economy.

And I found a magazine that is interesting.
Do you still believe in Global Warming?

Soybean Scattering

In this season, many people ask me, "Japanese calendar is same as Chinese's?"

The answer is "NO".

Japan used to use "The Yin Calendar" until December 2nd 1872.

And next day that supposed to be December 3rd became January 1st 1873 by Gregorian Calendar (Yang Calendar) as U.S.

This Yin Calendar is called Chinese calendar in U.S.

This Yin Calendar corresponds to moon's movement.

A new moon to next new moon is called one month.

So Japanese still count "one moon, two moons..." for "one month, two months..."

And Japanese say "1st moon, 2nd moon, 3rd moon..." for "January, February, March...".

We Japanese usually do not celebrate old new yeaer (Chinese new year).

But we have an event that called "Mame-maki (Bean Scattering Festival)" at one day before first day of spring (February 3rd in this year).

People scatter dry soybeans with yelling, "Goblins Out! Fortune In!" to drive out evil and bring in good luck.
ONI the goblin, Often one of the man teacher wear a mask like this in kindergartens or pre-schools.

After scattering beans, people pick up beans and eat the same number as their age for good health.

However I always ate way more number of beans than my age.

That is why I am so healthy now?

By The Way
