Japanese Acupuncturist Tells You How to Renounce Your Worldly Desires

Many people visited my blog from Pakistan in end of 2011.
☆⌒(*^-゚)v آپ کا شکریہ!!
I did not know that the official language of Pakistan is English.
(・0・。)

Japanese are busy...
Most of Japanese do not really worship for the religions.

But we eat Christmas cake and have Christmas parties, which I have mentioned before.
Many Japanese go to Buddhist temples at New Year's Eve.
And go to Shinto shrines at New Year's Day.

There is big event in Buddhist temple.
Ring the big bell 108 times at end of year.
The Watch-Night Bell "Jyoya no Kane".
It takes few hours.
So last hit is already in New Year.
Toudai-Temple
where biggest Buddha is, in Nara
Many temples let you ring the bells.

The reason why ring the bell 108 times is:
Buddhism considers human being has 108 kinds of worldly desires.
So you renounce all of worldly desires and going to be in new year with clean body and mind.

Don't you think you have 108 kinds of worldly desires?

Yes, you do Ψ(`∀´)Ψ.

Not many Japanese celebrate Christmas unless they are Christians.
Wikipedia Japanese says, "Christian population never have been more than 1% in Japan".
I was surprised.
I thought about 10% of Japanese are Christian, but only 1%.

Vietnam pulled out all the stops this week for a visit from China's expected future leader - including flags with an extra star.
The gaffe came during a welcoming ceremony for Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping in Hanoi on Wednesday when children waved flags decorated with six stars.

China's flag has only five stars - one big star surrounded by four smaller ones.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin told reporters Friday that Vietnam had told the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi that it was "a technical error."

Relations between the countries have been strained over competing claims in the potentially oil-rich South China Sea. Vietnam and China signed cooperation agreements on youth affairs and health during Xi's visit.

Before Acupuncture for Neck Shoulder Pain

I supposed to post this about 10 days ago.
So it is not really timely, but anyway...

Yeah!
It is the season.

I think I posted (maybe not) few weeks ago, which many people complained one next to another "Lower Backache" because the climate changed with atmosphere pressure down in that time.

Now Neck and Shoulders.

Many people complain "Neck Pain and Shoulder Pain" on next to another lately,
because air temperature dropped.

Most of people cover themselves by blanket when they sleep, but neck shoulder areas.

The areas are exposed in cold air in the early morning.
Then the muscles are contracted without your notice (either without your permission Ψ(`∀´)Ψ).

"Stretching"
It is the best.
Stretching before you get injury is of course better,
but after you got the injury, still stretching is good.

Keep 15 to 20 seconds in one posture with regular breath.

"Heat pad" is good in most of case, but it has an adverse effect.

It may overheat the injury, which means making inflammation worse.

"WHEN stop heating" is a difficult point.

I rather Icing before shower than using heat.
It is safer.

I know you are busy.
I know you do not have time to take care yourself.
I know your case is different to others.

Surely, I can help these injuries with acupuncture, but I really recommend preventing these injuries before they occur.

Black Swan for Your Body Shape

Mary Helen Bowers released interesting DVDs.

Who is Mary Helen Bowers?

She was the coach for Natalie Portman in the movie Black Swan.

What is the DVD?

Ballet for making good body shape.

Sounds good (*^ー゚)b

Running, swimming, spinning (bike), sports...

a lot of things are good for making good body shape or losing weight in healthy way, but ballet has some extra benefits.

You may look at yourself by big mirror during ballet.

So you can see your change in body shape and your posture all the time.

Observing your body-shape-change stimulates your motivation.

And observing your posture prevents injury.

Just do not forget warming up and stretching.

And apply ice if you got acute pain in muscle or joints.

(15 min on your limbs, 30 min on your trunk)

Remember, you do not gain weight if you consume calories more than intake.
However, muscle is heavier than fat so "weight" itself may not have big change.

I guess you are still happy with your current weight with Natalie Portman's body shape. (≡^∇^≡)

This is good idea

I like "Ballet for losing weight"
way more than pole dance or taking tabs.

Know What You Are Eating and No Worry

Do you know GM?

General Motors? General Manager?

Yes, those are GM.

But I want to mention about another GM this time.

It is "Genetically Modified" food.
Another name is "Genetically Engineered" food.

Those foods' DNA are modified to growing hast, strong to drought, and/or other purposes.

GM foods are obligated to label about it in EU, Russia, Japan, even in China.
However, it is not in U.S.

"Just Label It" is a group that is composed by 300 companies, organization, and physicians.
Recently, they presented the petition to FDA, which GM foods are obligated to be labeled it.

USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) tells 80% of corns are GM crops.
And those are contained in a lot of processed foods.
BIO (Biotechnology Industry Association) says, not necessary to label it, because "all of researchers who have studied this problem, conclude no problem for health".

On the other hand,
Gary Hirshberg, CEO of Stonyfield the dairy company and a member of "Just Label It" rebuts, "It is a right of consumers for transparency. People have a right that knowing what they are eating. Everybody becomes experimental animal by eating GM foods".

The group is broadcasting the commercial messages that emphasize "A lot of people do not know they are eating GM foods".
And they are appealing to consumers to access to their website (justlabelit.org) and sign up the petition for FDA.

I agree that "people have a right that knowing what they are eating," but do not be scared too much.
There is no evidence "GM foods are bad to health," autough you are taking Advil that has evidence of bad effect for your kidney. Ψ(`∀´)Ψ
If you still worry about it, just try to avoid taking it.
I believe you know that MSG is not bad as people used to complain... right?

Traditional Oriental Wind & Modern Wind

God of the Wind

In Traditional Oriental Medicine, we consider there are 6 exogenous evil (pathogenic) factors.

Heat evil (Netsu-jya) or Fire evil (Ka-jya)
Cold evil (Kan-jya)
Summer heat evil (Sho-Jya)
Damp evil (Shitsu-jya)
Dry evil (Sou-jya)
And
Wind evil (Fu-jya)

Common cold and flu are categorized to Wind evil in most of cases.

Wind often attacks the upper body, head throat, and eyes.
It usually involves symptoms of twitching, spasms, or shaking.
The organ most often affected by external Wind is the Lung.

By the way,
Another Wind that is defined by modern science became the evil from evening of Nov. 30th to morning of Dec. 1st.
This is the evening of Nov. 30th in Brentwood

Even MSN Japan reported this happening.

The marts are having a hard time keeping up with the demand for them, because the Slime Chashao Buns are too popular at first day of the sale.

They look so unhealthy, but they are healthy (I am not talking about Slime's health (゚∀゚*)).

Parisiennes Love a Branch Toothbrush

What do you use to brush your teeth?
Oral B?
Colgate?

Haven't you felt African people (in Africa) have really white teeth?

Neem
It is in fashion in the women who are beauty experts in Paris.
In Africa, a little branch of Neem is used instead of plastic toothbrush.
The branch is about 5mm in diameter and about 10cm in length.

This branch looks like a pencil at first.
You should chew it again and again persistently.
The fiber at end of branch become untied little by little, and then it will be brush.
You can now brush your teeth and massage your gum.

At beginning, you do not like its sweet sour taste and hard brush touch.
However, you will feel immediately how it works.

Neem has natural whitening effect.
And you do not need toothpaste anymore.

The Neem for toothbrush is sold on the street in all over the place in Africa.
So people do not need to prepare it, but they can get anytime.

Do you want to try it to get white teeth?

Huh?

Don't you wanna chew it to make brush?
Do you rather go to dentist and get laser whitening in Beverly Hills?

I know.

You don't like making any effort, right.

That is good too.

Your laziness helps this recession little bit. Ψ(`∀´)Ψ

By the way,
 where can I get Neem?(゚_。)?

Using Neem with this paste maybe more powerful?

Turkey was imported to Japan in early 19th century from Holland.

That was right after Samurai era was done.

Their Japanese name is "Shichimen-cho," which means "Seven faced-bird".

Their head to neck are no feather, and those color change to red, blue, purple...

It is the reason to be named, "Seven faced-bird".
