It is one of the Japanese classic cake in now a day.

A confectionery "SouKe Kutsuwa-Dou" (in Takamatsu Tokushima, Japan) succeeded to make the Castella with Euglena.

They hope good effect for beauty and health because Euglenas contain various nutrients such as vitamin B group, vitamin C, folic acid, DHA, EPA, zinc, etc...

A piece of Castella (about an inch in thickness) contain about 220,000,000 Euglenas.

A whole cake (a little shorter than a foot long) is 1,995 Yen (about $24).
